RODCHENKO, Aleksandr Mikhailovich (1891-1956) (illustrator) and Semen Isaakovich KIRSANOV (1906-1972). Poslednii sovremennik [The Last Contemporary]. Moscow: "Federatsiya," 1930. 96 pp., 8vo (175 x 120 mm). Original two color Constructivist wrappers designed by Rodchenko. Condition: backstrip tanned with slight chip at head and tail, wrapper edges with minor creasing. When he moved to Moscow from Odessa in 1925, Kirsanov became a member of Vladmiri Mayakovsky's group LEF. In the 1930s he used his poetry to further the propaganda and agitation goals of the Soviet government. He later created a number of famous slogans for factories and construction sites.
