Extensively illustrated with bound in black and white plates and color vignette illustrations. Publisher's blue gray cloth, front cover stamped in gilt with red stamped decorative borders. Condition: restoration at lower margin of title page not affecting tect; hinges cracked, minor scuffing to back cover. opulent laudatory biography dedicated to the tsarevich on his tenth birthday. This oversized volume is filled with official photographs of the doomed prince. Aleksei Nikolaevich was the youngest child and, as the only son Nikolas II of Russia and Aleksandra Feodorovna, the heir apparent of all the Russias. He looks far more robust in these photos than his hemophilia might indicate. Any bump or bruise could have proven fatal and his mother sought help from the charlatain Rasputin. The boy always knew that he had not long to live and, rumors to the contrary, was executed with the rest of his family by the Bolsheviks in Ekaterinburg in the early hours of July 17, 1918.ImagesClick on thumbnails to see larger images:
