Prague, 1933. Hand-made album of 12 vintage photographs mounted on card and bound by string with photocollage front cover (249 x 349 mm). Condition: boards slightly discolored, minor soiling, corners bumped and frayed, four card mounts with small pencil marks. Provenance: Prague University stamp on verso of front cover. charming hand-made album of vintage soiuz photographs of young soviet children. Shternberg was a respected portrait photographer who belonged to the Octyabr or October association of experimental photographers. He worked within the heroic Constructivist manner of Aleksandr Rodchenko. He took these affectionate pictures of boys and girls in a state-run summer camp for use in Czechoslavakia so the captions are hand-written in Czech.
