Original brown cloth, upper cover blocked in gilt and blind. Condition: head and foot of spine and corners bumped. A beautiful photographic exploration of Moscow's subway system by Aleksandr Rodchenko's wife and fellow master photomontagist. [With:] TELINGATER, Solomon Benediktovich (1903-1969). Lenin (V. I. Ulyanov). [Moscow]: OGIZ, 1939. Title in red and black. Illustrated in color and black and white with bound in, tipped in and mounted plates and inserts. Publisher's navy blue cloth , spine and front cover lettered in gilt, blindstamp to back and spine. Condition: rear board with minor scuffing and shelfwear, lower spine split. a profusely illustrated, ornate and ambitious album. One of the elaborate volumes produced in the Soviet Union for distribution by the U.S.S.R. section of the World's Fair in New York in 1939. It is full of foldouts and tipped-in facsimiles of documents with an abundance of photographs and reproductions of paintings extolling the virtues of the founder of the first Marxist state.
