ZVORIKIN, Boris Vasilevich (1872-1935). Moskva geroichevskoi Belgii i mnogostadalnoi Polshy [Moscow for Heroic Belgium and Suffering Poland].
Moscow: A. A. Levenson, 1914. Lithograph in colors (530 x 340 mm). Poster for a November 30-December 1, 1914 exhibition to aid Belgium and Poland. Like his Silver Age contemporaries Bilibin and Korovin, Zvorikin worked in a self-consciously folk art manner. The influence of the lubok or popular Russian print is especially evident in the composition and character of the drawing of St. Michael slaying the dragon.
