Half-title printed in bistre and gilt, decorative title, one headpiece, four section titles, four chapter openings, all printed in colors and gilt, 20 colored plates, text printed in black within light brown decorative border, occasional decorative flourishes in light brown and gilt, all after Zvorikin. Original decorated cream wrappers printed in colors and gilt, slipcase. Condition: small neat repairs to upper joint, small chips to head of spine. limited edition of 955 copies, this copy numbered 877, one of 775 copies on "vélin pur fil" paper. A magnificent edition of the famous Pushkin skazka illustrated in the Bilibin manner by Zvorikin after fleeing to Paris after the Bolshevik Revolution.
