1869 CONFEDERATE GENERAL NATHAN B FORREST DS
Description
Controversial Confederate General Nathan Bedford Forrest was President of the Selma, Marion and Memphis Railroad Company in his later years. This is a first mortgage bond issued by the company in 1869. Forrest signed the line for the President. Unfortunately, the bond has been cut in two pieces, with another part of the bond missing. Forrest is considered one of the best Confederate Cavalry Generals, and was the first Grand Wizard of the Ku Klux Klan. (2008 PSA/DNA COA #H51121)
