Ultra-rare 8½"x5½" handwritten and signed letter hand-dated Sept. 20, 1921, to Molotov from Chairman of the Council of People's Commissars, V.I. Lenin. The letter concerns Mensheviks in Communist Party and what should be done about them. Mensheviks thought that Socialism would be achieved gradually by parliamentary methods. Needless to say Lenin didn't think along these lines. Multi-page certificate from Expert Research Centre in Moscow gives careful analysis of handwriting, paper, ink, style of signature and so on. The 2003 cert is in Russian and also comes with English translation. Provenance is also included:'...letter was kept by Molotov's assistant I. Suslov and filed away. After his death in 1943, letter was stored in archives of Communist Party historian N.K. Suhinin. It was procured from there by Russian collector and subsequently to current owner.' Exceptional ALS. (2003 Expert Research Centre COA)
