1939 ORIGINAL STALIN GOVERNMENT PHOTO

This 7"x11" black & white photo was in Museum of the Revolution. On reverse written in pencil: 'Political & Party leaders meet with reps. from W. Ukraine, 1939 Moscow.' One of more interesting aspects of this photo is that third row has been superimposed, by whatever method, and replaced original in photo. Clearly some party members fell out of favor and were replaced. Stalin is in front row center and his signature is on bottom of 11½"x16 matte. Signature is quite neat and is not likely by his hand and offered as such but it is possible he signed presentation items like this very neatly. Matte is faulty but photo in good condition. In any case, rare and historic photo.
