A mounted 29"x23" poster of the 1977 Boxing heavyweight championship bout between Muhammad Ali and Earnie Shavers, hand-signed by both Ali and Shavers! There are only five of these autographed posters in existence, and this is number one of five, directly from the Earnie Shavers collection. Both boxers have signed directly underneath their faces in black sharpie, with the inscription of 'Peace' under Shavers' autograph. The poster itself is in Good condition, with some edge damage and repair work, along with some creasing at the corners. This fight between Ali and Shavers took place September 29th, 1977, with a decision win after fifteen rounds for Ali. Shavers was then known as one the hardest punchers ever, and Ali himself famously stated after the fight: "Earnie hit me so hard, it shook my kinfolk back in Africa". An outstanding and rare piece of boxing history to be had. (2008 PSA/DNA COA)
