1963 FLEER COMPLETE SET W/CHECKLIST

Crisp complete set from the Fleer 1963 Series, includes both short prints (checklist and #46 Joe Adcock). Fleer issued sets from 1959-61, but this was the first set in which they featured contemporary players only. This obviously upset Topps enough for them to file suit, halting this very handsome set at 66 cards (with checklist). The composition of these cards is interestingly similar to the contemporary Topps set, except that instead of a second inset picture of the player, Fleer has a generic baseball player in various positions pictured. Overall condition is VG-EX to EX-MT with many better. Some highlights: Autographed Tommy Davis card, #5 Willie Mays (EX-MT), #42 Sandy Koufax (EX-MT), #56 Roberto Clemente (VG-EX), #46 Adcock (short-print, EX), and the very scarce checklist card which has unfortunately been marked up with obvious attempts to erase (PR-FR). Excellent opportunity to pick up a high quality complete set of this interesting 'what-might-have-been' issue.
