A baseball issued by a department store, autographed by 25 baseball players, including eight Hall-of-Famers. The name of the store is covered completely, but its tagline is still visible: 'Shoes For Boys'. The players on this ball from various teams, with the most from the two St. Louis MLB teams, the Browns and the Cardinals. HOFer's include: Rogers Hornsby (sweet spot), Jesse Haines, Rabbit Maranville, Frankie Frisch, George Sisler, Wilbert Robinson, Dazzy Vance and Mickey Cochrane. There are 17 other signatures, signed in a somewhat disorderly way and with different pens indicating that these signatures were most certainly penned at different times. Other legible signers include: Lou Blue, Bill Doak, Arnold 'Jigger' Statz, Steve O'Neill, Jack Smith, Fred Brickell, Jess Petty, Jack Quinn, George Harper, Cy Perkins and Lance Richbourgh. Five additional signatures not recognized. Ball certainly shows its age, although it was probably never used as there is no scuffing. Signatures for the most part are quite bold.
