A 7"x9" B&W wire photograph of the two managers of the 1946 World Series, Jim Dyer for the St. Louis Cardinals and Joe Cronin for the Boston Red Sox. This series is notable for Cardinal powder keg Enos Slaughter's 'Mad Dash' to score the winning run in Game Seven. Per the original intact caption on the back, this photo was taken on October 7th, 1946, prior to Game One. Photo itself exhibits some creasing on the corners, but otherwise in excellent condition. The vivid picture depicts the smiling skippers shaking hands on field at old Sportsman's Park. A great addition to your vintage baseball photograph collection.
