One of only ten members of the 3000-300 club (3000 hits, 300 home runs), Stan 'the Man' Musial ranks fourth on the all-time hit list with 3630, behind Rose, Cobb and Aaron. Offered here a vintage wire photo from the day Musial hit his 3000th hit. Dated May 13th, 1958, this original 8"x6" B&W photograph shows Stan the Man holding two baseballs; per the intact caption on the back "the ball in Stan's right hand will be enshrined in baseball's Hall of Fame and the other he will keep as a memento of the occasion." The picture itself is in excellent shape, with semi-sharp corners and a clean surface; the back has some damage to the caption, and there is some writing in blue ink pen. Otherwise, an excellent vintage wire photo specimen!
