Very attractive tintype of union soldier, Ezra Mumford, First Battery Kansas Volunteers. Lot includes the tintype 2½"x3¼", a paper photo-positive made from the tintype and a typed detailed transcript of the soldier's daily life during the war. No original diary accompanied the material. ALSO included is a handwritten genealogical summary taken from the Mumford Family bible done in the 1950s with details going back to the 18th century. Much fascinating reading relating to Mumford's experience during the Civil war with the Kansas Volunteers. Fault near top of tintype well away from image area. Great picture with sword. Nice historic lot.
