Fascinating lot of memorabilia from Charles Mumford, late of the 6th Missouri Band. Includes: USWV (United Spanish War Veterans medal, fine condition); Correspondence from Mumford (2nd alto in band) to his sister in Mound City, Kansas from his unit while in Camp Cuba Libre, Jefferson Barracks, Mo.; Panama Park FL, includes several patriotic cacheted covers, most have multi-paged detailed letters from the bandmember; photographs highlighted by band photos in front of tents, 9x7½" photo of team in baseball uniforms with equipment, Cuba photos, family photos from somewhat later periods and more. Condition of photos very mixed, some downright poor, others fine; covers roughly opened at right for the most part, affecting franking. A wonderful, original holding."
