Grouping of 50 different cigarette cards depicting the British military. Several different ranks depicted (Private, Sergeant, etc) in the captions above each pictured soldier. 45 of the 50 cards have the more scarce gray print caption - the other five are the brown print. The backs are blue print on white, describing a different military department or group: Royal Marines, Life Guards, 2nd Dragoon Guards, 13th Hussars, etc. These cards are in Very Good to Excellent condition. Most cards have mild surface marks, and a couple have small stains. At least one back has some mild paper loss. Corners have typical small dings of 100-year old cards, but there are virtually no wrinkles or creases to be found. Cards still in album pages, but pages no longer usable. These regal portraits have well withstood the test of time and would make an excellent addition to your growing cigarette card collection.
