1934 PLAYER'S CIGARETTE CARDS: FILM STARS 1ST SET

Full set of 50 British cigarette cards depicting Film Stars from the Golden Age of Hollywood. This was the first series of three, and arguably the most valuable per the Murray Guide. This set has all of the acting legends of era, like Gary Cooper, Joan Crawford, Bette Davis, Marlene Dietrich, Clark Gable, Greta Garbo, Jean Harlow, Katherine Hepburn, Johnny Weissmuller, and many more. Each card portrays a beautiful profile picture of the actor or actress, with their biography printed in black on an off-white back. These cards have been preserved in two glass frames for nearly 25 years, each held within a card-sized cut-out of the matting. Each framed grouping has half of the set, with five rows of five columns apiece. Condition ranges from EX to NM, only minor surface disturbances and slight warping on some keep these cards from being in Mint shape. Excellent presentation piece for these wonderfully nostalgic cards.
