Pennsylvania Stock Certificate Issued During War of 1812

July 1, 1814, Wilmington and Philadelphia Turnpike Company, Stock Certificate, Choice Crisp Uncirculated.
This original, partially printed, 6" x 11" stock certificate, was issued in Pennsylvania or Delaware, during the War of 1812, while British troops were operating in the area around Washington, D.C. Despite this, the Wilmington & Philadelphia Turnpike Company was organized in 1814, and sold this certificate, number 910, for 1 share to Margarett Price. This certificate is signed, "Rob. Hamilton" as President, and "Josiah Greble" as Treasurer. This is a choice, crisp, unfolded certificate, still bright and fresh, with a large, embossed company seal in the lower left.
