Abraham Lincoln, Civil War Postal Cover, Published by John P. Charlton & Thomas Althrop, Philadelphia, Very Fine.
5.75" x 3.25", never used. The left side of the cover is a blue ink engraved portrait of Abraham Lincoln. Sized 2.25" x 2.75", the face of Lincoln takes up half of the envelope. Slightly tilted to the left, Lincoln is dressed in a collared shirt with bow tie and jacket. There is additional shadowing in the back. The attention to detail shown here is precise depicted in his apparent expression.
