c. 1860-1920, Lot of 10 Portrait Prints of Prominent Americans, Steel Engravings and Mezzotint Prints, Very Fine to Extremely Fine.
Most of these prints were published in the mid-1800's and most measure either 8.5" x 5.5" or 10.5" x 8," and are printed on heavy paper with blank back. The printed copyright dates are shown. 1. ROBERT FULTON (1861). 2. HUGH McCULLOCH (1867). 3. JOHN LOTHROP MOTLEY (1867). 4. JOSEPH STORY (1862). 5. ALEXANDER HAMILTON, 9" x 5.25" engraving mounted to larger card. 6. THOMAS JEFFERSON. 7. JAMES MONROE. 8. GEORGE ROGERS CLARK, 8.5" x 5.5" photogravure of painting. 9. GEORGE ROGERS CLARK, 5.5" x 8.5" mezzotint of 3 different portraits, protected by sheet of tissue. 10. OLIVER ELSWORTH, 5" x 4" photogravure, untitled, .5" tear at top. An interesting group, some with damp stains in the top margin or age toning, with most quite suitable for framing and display.
