Complete Sheet of Italian Playing Cards by R. Pignalosa

c. 1920s-1930s, Uncut Sheet of Italian Playing Cards, by Raffaele Pignalosa in Naples, Complete Deck of 40 Cards, Choice Mint.
This is a complete, uncut sheet of 40 Italian playing cards, measuring 17" x 20.5" and printed by "Raffaele Pignalosa, Napoli" (Naples). This deck has 10 cards, numbered 2 through 7, plus a Jack, Knight, King and Ace, in suits of Coins, Cups, Swords and Batons. The back design consists of a blindfolded woman pouring money out of a cornucopia. The multicolored faces of these cards are done in an old style, but this sheet was actually printed in the 1920's or 1930's. Raffaele Pignalosa was in business as early as 1920, but by 1941 the firm was called R. Pignalosa & Sons. This particular sheet is in Mint Condition, still bright and bold. A colorful and attractive set which would look magnificent framed for display.
