Nailing The Flag To The Flagpole Civil War Ribbon c.1864, Patriotic Civil War Paper Ribbon, "Our Country And Our Flag - The Union At All Hazards," Showing a man nailing the flag to the flagpole, Choice Mint. Printed in red and blue, this exciting paper ribbon, 8" x 2.75," depicts a man who has climbed a flagpole and, with a hammer in his right hand, is driving in a nail. The inscription reads "Our Country and Our Flag-The Union At all Hazards." The message is clearly a refusal to lower the flag, or by extension, a refusal to give up or compromise. Possibly printed for the 1864 Presidential Campaign. Light toning at extreme margins, otherwise near perfect. Early American will accept payment by check or credit card.
