Nailing The Flag To The Flagpole Civil War Ribbon

c.1864, Patriotic Civil War Paper Ribbon, "Our Country And Our Flag - The Union At All Hazards," Showing a man nailing the flag to the flagpole, Choice Mint.
Printed in red and blue, this exciting paper ribbon, 8" x 2.75," depicts a man who has climbed a flagpole and, with a hammer in his right hand, is driving in a nail. The inscription reads "Our Country and Our Flag-The Union At all Hazards." The message is clearly a refusal to lower the flag, or by extension, a refusal to give up or compromise. Possibly printed for the 1864 Presidential Campaign. Light toning at extreme margins, otherwise near perfect.
