1868 Ulysses S. Grant Presidential Campaign Cover

June 8 (1868), Ulysses S. Grant Presidential Campaign Cover, "Hurrah ! for Grant And Good Government," Mailed from Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, Postally Used, Fine.
This wonderful Presidential Campaign Cover was mailed within a month of Grant's nomination by the Republican Party as its Presidential Candidate. The slogan and wreathed portrait of Grant are printed in a light bronze or brownish grey color. The blue cancellation and bulls eye are clear and tied to the stamp. This cover is complete and in nice condition aside from some age toning and a slight trimming of the right end when the envelope was opened. The slogan on this cover is somewhat ironic because Grant's administration was one of the most corrupt on record. A great Political Collectible.
