Georgia Currency
Rare 1776 Georgia Colonial $8 "Man Holding Cane" Type

Georgia. (1776) Undated. Eight Dollars. "Man Holding Cane" vignette. PASS-CO graded Extremely Fine-45.
"Restored corner and light conservation" is noted on encasement. This series on Georgia is one the most distinctive and interesting. The higher denomination notes are quite rare, as we have catalogued only one other for auction in the past 10 years! This is a well defined note with sharp red and black printed text and a very sharp, clear "Man Holding Cane" vignette which is unique to this issue. The margins are slightly close being trimmed in at the lower right and bottom right. The five signatures remain sharp and clear. One of the true "Classic" type notes, unique to Georgia and an important reason why this series is so popular and highly collected.

Early American will accept payment by check or credit card.
