New Jersey Currency
Rare Quality April 8, 1762 Three Pounds Plate "A" - One of Only 610 Printed

New Jersey. April 8, 1762. Three Pounds. Plate A. PASS-CO graded Extremely Fine-40.
This is a colorful, very superior looking note from a series that is notorious for its low quality, split and damaged notes. It has excellent black and red colors on the face with excellent contrast between the printed texts and hand signatures and serial number. The back is quite clean looking with good strong details. Only a mere 1,219 of these notes were authorized to be printed in 1762 with about 610 bearing plate letter "A". These notes were only valid to be used in circulation until November of 1780 and were made invalid after May of 1781. It is remarkable that any notes still exist, particularly in this impressive Extremely Fine quality.
