Rhode Island Currency
Rare May 3, 1775 Rhode Island One Shilling Note Colony of Rhode Island. May 3, 1775. One Shilling. PASS-CO graded Very Fine-20. Light conservation is noted on the holder as there is some reinforcement to the folds and centerfold edges. This note is whole and complete with a well printed and evenly worn appearance. Signed by Metcalfe Bowler, this issue carried a 2.5% Interest per year and was due to be returned to the Treasury in two years, by 1777 to be redeemed and destroyed, thus very rare.
