London: Printed by Adam Islip, 1600. Translated by Philemon Holland. Folio (320 x 210 mm). Engraved title, head and tailpieces. Contemporary calf boards panelled in blind, modern backstrip with a red morocco lettering label, modern endpapers. Condition: title page mounted with some loss, portrait trimmed close and inlaid, light dampstaining to preliminaries, light marginalia; upper hinge cracked, boards worn with some loss at edges. Provenance: E. R. Pfefferkorn (ink name to front pastedown); initials "A. R." to title. first edition in english of livy's history of rome.
