Folio (360 x 265 mm). 30 tinted lithographic plates, llustrations in the text, 1 map hand-colored in outline and 4 pp. of engraved sheet music. Full green morocco decoratively ruled and panelled in gilt on covers, spine tooled and lettered in gilt with 5 raised bands, gilt turn-ins, a.e.g. Condition: light foxing; joints repaired and hinges strengthened, binding lightly rubbed at places. first edition. In his introduction to the present work, Lear attests the accuracy of the lithographs which he exectued himself.
