Later blue cloth, lettered in gilt on spines. Condition: one folding plate with tape repairs to verso, some light thumbsoiling; shelfwear and scuffing to covers. a clean, wide margined copy with many uncut pages. A very fresh copy of Pallas' comprehensive travel narrative. Pallas describes the costumes, buildings and occupations of the people he encountered while crossing Russia, and particularly in the Crimea.
