Condition: cloth worn along bottom edge with closed split on spine; creasing long folds, minor chips at extremities, larger chip on rear panel at top corner at spine. first edition inscribed. Ellison has penned "For Helen Williams/ Sincerely,/ Ralph Ellison." Winner of the 1952 National Book Award.
