Washington: 14 March 1836. 2 pp., folded sheet with integral blank (255 x 200 mm). Signed "M. Van Buren." concerning the formation of what would become oglethorpe university in georgia. "My friend Mr. Talmadge of Georgia visits our section of the Union in the hope of obtaining subscriptions for a seminary of Learning in his state, the merits of which he will explain.
