Springfield: 16 July 1841. 1 p., single sheet (310 x 200 mm). Signed "Logan & Lincoln" and with an additional autograph note signed "A. Lincoln" at the bottom. On ruled paper. Condition: restoration along the folds. The case concerned the non-payment of a debt owed to the plaintiff (who was represented by Logan & Lincoln and would be awarded by the court the sum of $171.24). Lincoln's note at the bottom reads: "I do hereby enter myself security for costs in the above cause, and acknowledge myself bound to pay or cause to be paid all costs which may accrue in said action either to the opposite party or to any of the officers of this court in pursuance of the laws of this state."
