Condition: top corners bumped, minor rubbing along the front joint. an eskimo-german dictionary compiled by missionaries in labrador. Among the earliest printed dictionaries of the Labrador Eskimo, the work was compiled by missionary Friedrich Erdmann, who also translated the texts of the books of Job, Ecclesiastes, and the Song of Solomon into the same language. The word list, arranged alphabetically, is accompanied by a two-page foreword which provides a brief introduction to the orthography and grammar of the Inuktitut language.
