NOLIN, Jean Baptiste. L'Amerique Dressé Sur les Relations les plus Recentes rectifiées sur les dernieres observations. Paris: Chez Crepy, 1775. Engraved wall map, hand-colored (1245 x 1450 mm). Engraved border comprised of 30 vignettes depicting historical scenes relating to the settlement of North and South America. Two textual insets in the lower portion of the border giving historical and geographical descriptions. Condition: restored with repaired tears, rebacked with new linen. decorative french wall map of north and south america. A reissue of Nolin's famous 1740 wall map, published as the English American Colonies were threatening revolution. The map is handsomely embellished with sea monsters, a cartouche depicting Native Americans in the act of cannibalism and French warships in both the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans.
