[8], 363 [i.e. 263]; [16], 320pp. (8vo)4x6¾, recent full calf binding with raised bands by Phil Dusel, spine gilt and gilt-stamped decorations on covers.41 Greek dissertations on theological, ethical, and other philosophical subjects, by the itinerant Platonist lecturer Maximus of Tyre, reputed to have been the tutor of Marcus Aurelius. The second work, issued by Henri Estienne to accompany the Greek text, is the Latin translation by the Florentine Archbishop Cosimo Pazzi, originally printed in 1517, but here corrected by Estienne.
