Author: ** Description: Volume consists of 133 plates, mostly steel engravings but also including chromolithographs and woodcuts. Period full red morocco tooled in gilt, raised bands, original owner's name in gilt on front cover, gilt-lettered spine reads "Engravings," dentelles, all edges gilt.Volume of engraved plates consists largely of fashion plates from two 19th century rival American women's publications, Graham's Magazine and Godey's Lady's Book. Also contains a few plates from other publications such as Sartain's Magazine and the Columbian Magazine. Heading: zzk(Steel Engravings)Place Published: N.p.
