A 19th century example with an enameled cherub on the very top of the cover and raised gold enamels. The silver frame is hallmarked in three places with a conjoined S S with an additional symbol. The interior grill bears the same markings. Outside, the enamels depict a man with dove and woman with flower basket in 18th century garb within oval reserves against red and highlighted by gold enamels. The hinged cover opens to reveal a robin's egg blue enamel interior with garland inside and gilt pierced cut and engraved grille. Measurements of 2 3/4 x 7/8 inches.
Condition reportExcellent, complete, tight clasp and hinge, no damage or abuse, no repair or signs of wear.
