A SPORRAN FORM SILVER MTD STAG VINAIGRETTE

A rare and wonderful 19th century figural vinaigrette in the form of a Scottish Sporran. The hinged cover is set with a faceted citrine-like stone and opens to an engraved and punched oval grille with hinge. The stag horn body is topped by and engraved silver collar and a matching silver band joins the two halves. A hand made double ling chain joins a finger loop. This wonderful example is unmarked as many of the Scottish pieces were. Measurements of 2 1/2 x 1 1/4 inches.

Condition report

Excellent, complete, tight clasp and hinge, no damage or abuse, no monogram or engraving.
