Sea shell shaped with gold designs accented by black enamels, opens to an unusual tab-handled lift out grille delicately cut and engraved. The inside rim is engraved - E N Feb 18 1828 - on one side and on the opposite side - E N Feb 19 1837 - . Unmarked 18k gold. Unusual features include a clear enamel coating to the inside surface of the shell design. Measurements of 1 x 3/4 inches.

Very good, complete, tight clasp and hinge, minimal enamel surface loss in scattered areas under magnification, very good overall.
