IMPORTANT GOLD AND SPLIT PEARL VINAIGRETTE

A wonderful Swiss made vinaigrette with a tromp le'oil image of a rose front and back in fine enamels. The front is adorned with split pearls among the composition of the rose. The back is framed by a trefoil pattern of bright cut gold and black enamel. The sides have panels of guilloché enamels trimmed by black and white enamel designs bordered by stippled gold pattern. The interior grille is saw-pierced and delicately engraved in fine lines on rosettes connected by smooth surfaced stars for contrast. Inside the base of the vinaigrette are letters that appear to read S N with a flourish above them. Measurements of 1 3/4 x 1 inches.

Very fine condition, noting two missing smaller seed pearls, apparently restoration to one side panel of green enamel (see last image for detail). And when tilted in the light, very fine surface lines or scratches can be seen on the enamels' surface, but not when observed straight on.
