Still Life; Oil on canvas by Veal Hayward; Size: 14"x20"; Veal Hayward (1913-1968) was born in Melbourne. At 1932 joined Max Meldrum School of Painting, later became an instructor at the School. At 1937 he moved to Sydney and had found the Meldrum School of Painting in Sydney. He was made Fellow (later Vice president) of the Royal Art Society of New South Wales at 1940. At 1953 Veal took part at First London exhibition at Piccadilly Gallery. He was regular contributor to the international art magazine \'The Artist\' and occasional teacher, lecturer and art critic. Also he was elected President of the Australian Artists Association, London. Veal left London in 1955, settling in Reigate, Surrey, UK. He had his first solo exhibition in USA (New York),1962 and at 1965 - first solo exhibition in Europe (Rome). At 1968 Veal returned to Australia where he died.
