14 Japanese Hakata Urasaki Dolls Nativity

Nativity set consisting of 14 Japanese Hakata Urasaki dolls c. 1950 with wood stable. Expressive ceramic figures vividly colored with waterproof paint, manufactured in Fukuoka for sale to U.S. military personnel stationed nearby during the Korean War. Although "washable", cleaning is not recommended due to problems with the long-term durability of the waterproof paints. Included wood stable is not original to the set.
Dimensions: Tallest figure approximately 9"H
Condition: All figures are in very good condition.
