Morritt, Charles. Four-page ALS to Harry Houdini. Morritt, widely acknowledged as one of the great inventors of mirror principles and stage illusions of the early 20th century also developed the basic secret behind Houdini's vanishing elephant illusion and sold Houdini a number of illusions featured in the latter's show on and off for years. This letter reads, in part: "The suggestion I made re Tally Ho can be left to your consideration for a few days as it will make no difference to my work as I shall have no alteration to make. This illusion will look a most striking novelty as its away from anything else. Now with reference to the Comet Illusion- this can also be decided by you whether to have 3 ladies or one- but if 3 it requires 3 separate constructions but I am getting on with one. If one it would be Queen of Comets…." Dated February 12, 1914. Folds, light toning, and chips to extremities as expected, otherwise good condition. Scarce.
