[Scrapbook] Oversized scrapbook filled with hundreds of pictorial letterheads and advertising for magicians and magic dealers. Included in this one-time hotel register are clipped and complete letterheads, several in full color, dating to the 1890s, advertising, among others, the following performers: Alexander, Al Baker (early), Clinton Burgess, Eugene Laurant (as Eugene the Magician), Charles F(ulton) Oursler, Chevalier Ernst Thorn (lithographed postcard), Trick of the Month Club, Wallace, Thomas Worthington, and many more. 13 x 17". Binding and boards in poor condition, contents sound. An impressive collection. The following note, in Jay Marshall's hand, is written on the first page of the book: "This scrapbook came from the Floyd Thayer library – via Lloyd Chambers, to Max Hapner to Jay Marshall – probably collected by Christianer who was Thayer's partner…
