The Complete Writings of Walt Whitman. New York and London: G.P. Putnam's Sons, 1902. A ten volume set limited to only 32 sets that include a page from the author's original manuscript, this being number 21 in the edition, hand signed G. P. Putnam's Sons with a steel engraving notarized page that reads "I certify that the accompanying sheet is a page of original manuscript written by Walt Whitman. It was sent to me by him and has been in my possession ever since." followed by signature and notary stamp with signature May 19, 1902. Referring to a page with tabbed in manuscript dated Sept 17 '78. Issued under the editorial supervision of his Literary Executors, Richard Maurice Bucke, Thomas B. Harned and Horace L. Traubel with additional bibliographical and critical material prepared by Oscar Lovell Triggs, Ph.D. Quarto size in Green Morracan leather, woven silk end pages and back board decoration.
Condition reportSeparation inside between front board and first paper volume one, large spots to a series of pages volume one, other minor foxing, each volume's spine has adhesive residue or leather surface loss near it's bottom, 1/4 inch diameter where an adhesive sticker was applied at some point, very good overall, no fading to the leather.
