An unsigned work of penmanship in ink and watercolor on paper by Zachariah Reynolds of Washington County, Pennsylvania. Circa 1810, this image depicts George Washington on Horseback and is executed on a sheet of laid paper with stylized C & P watermark, folded to 6 x 7 inches. Zachariah Reynolds was born in Washington county, Pennsylvania and was well known for his penmanship. Around 1810 he executed a series of ink and watercolor charts of the internal organs for Dr. Leatherman, of Houstonville, Pennsylvania (see lot 346). This work is from a group of twenty works that recently surfaced in the possession of Zachariah Reynolds' descendants. An affidavit of provenance from these descendants accompanies this piece.

Very good noting light toning and mat burn, not laid down, damaged or repaired.
