C. 1810 PENN. FOLK ART FEDERAL EAGLE INK PENMANSH

An unsigned work of penmanship in ink on paper by Zachariah Reynolds of Washington County, Pennsylvania. Circa 1810, this image depicts an Eagle with Federal shield, arrows, and an olive branch. It's executed on a 6.5 x 8 inch sheet of paper and is attributed to Zachariah Reynolds of Washington county, Pennsylvania who was well known for his penmanship. Around 1810 he executed a series of ink and watercolor charts of the internal organs for Dr. Leatherman, of Houstonville, Pennsylvania (see lot 346). This work is from a group of twenty works that recently surfaced in the possession of Zachariah Reynolds' descendants. An affidavit of provenance from these descendants accompanies this piece.

Condition report

Very good, not laid down, clean, no damage or staining.
