An unsigned work in ink and watercolor on laid paper by Zachariah Reynolds of Washington County, Pennsylvania. Circa 1810, this image is executed on a 7.5 X 12.5 inch sheet of paper and is attributed to Zachariah Reynolds who was well known for his penmanship. On the reverse is a additional drawing of a sheep. Around 1810 Reynolds executed a series of ink and watercolor charts of the internal organs for Dr. Leatherman, of Houstonville, Pennsylvania (see lot 346). This work is from a group of twenty works that recently surfaced in the possession of Zachariah Reynolds' descendants. An affidavit of provenance from these descendants accompanies this piece.
