Handmade glass beads from the Island of Murano in Italy that were used to trade with ethnic peoples of the world including the Pacific Northwest Coastal tribes. They were probably used for trade with the Pacific Coast Indians.
A strand of 150 glass beads with a turquoise blue color. The color of each bead varies considerable. The beads were handmade and have glass flaws and color variation. They are strung on a brown thread.
The beads were purchased in Portland Oregon from a trusted dealer of Native American arts who attributed to the Northwest Coast Indian tribes.
MEASUREMENTS 17 ¾†(45.1 cm) long. Each bead is approximate 9 mm. Weighs 3.8 oz (105 g)
CONDITION
There are glass flaws such as lines, inconsistent color, size differences, abrasions and some have small chips. They look old and hand made. They have been recently restrung. The ends of this thread are about 1" long and visible.
If you collect Native American artifacts, you will want these old beads to add to your collection. You can never have enough beads. You could even use them in modern jewelry.
